Further Arrest Made After Market Harborough Stabbing

A woman has been arrested as police continue their investigation into a stabbing in Market Harborough.

The 51-year-old was taken into custody yesterday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has since been released on bail.

The arrest follows an incident in Shropshire Close on Sunday night (5 July), where a man in his 20s was found with a stab wound injury.

He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

During the early hours of Monday morning, another man in his 20s approached officers at the scene suffering from significant cuts to his hand and arm. He was also taken to hospital, with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

A 22-year-old man was previously arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and has also been released on bail.

Police believe the two incidents are linked and are continuing enquiries.
