Cordons Lifted after Market Harborough stabbing

Police cordons have been removed from parts of Market Harborough after forensic investigations into a stabbing were completed.

Officers had sealed off areas around Shropshire Close, Orchard Street and Roman Way Recreation Ground following the incident on Sunday night.

A man in his 20s remains in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a stab wound.

A 21-year-old man arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent remains in police custody while detectives continue their enquiries.

Emergency services were called to Shropshire Close shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday after reports that the man had been injured.

A second man in his 20s later approached officers at the scene with significant cuts to his hand and arm. He was taken to hospital, where his injuries were found not to be life-threatening.

Leicestershire Police believe the two incidents are linked and continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed what happened, or who has CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area, to come forward.
