Market Harborough Shoplifters Ordered to Pay Compensation

Three people from Market Harborough have been ordered to pay compensation after admitting a series of shop thefts.

Daniel Greensmith, 27, of Edwin Court, Kettering Road, was sentenced after pleading guilty to five thefts committed between November 2025 and March 2026.

The offences included thefts from B&M in Oakham and Co-op stores in Market Harborough, involving electrical goods, household items, food and other products worth more than £1,000.

Greensmith was given a 12-month community order by Magistrates’ in Leicester, including a six-month drug rehabilitation requirement and up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity. He was also ordered to pay a total of £514.10 in compensation to the stores.

In a separate case, Rhona Griffin, 50, of Norbury Close, admitted three shop thefts from Sainsbury’s and the Co-op on Leicester Road in Market Harborough. She was fined £100 and ordered to pay £100 in compensation.

Rebecca Page, 48, of Nichols Avenue, admitted stealing goods worth £63.90 from the Co-op on Leicester Road in Market Harborough on March 22. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £63.90 in compensation.
