Firefighters Called To Grass Blaze

Firefighters were called to deal with grass ablaze on the Brook Fields estate in Fleckney.

Residents spotted smoke rising from the area yesterday evening and called 999.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Our crew from Wigston Fire Station attended a fire in the open, approximately 100m2 in size, on the Brook Fields estate in Fleckney yesterday, following a call reporting smoke at 17:48.

“They used one hose reel jet and short extension to tackle and extinguish the blaze. There were no casualties.

“The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time.”
