Men Charged After Car Stolen In Market Harborough

Two men have appeared in court charged with stealing a car in Market Harborough which crashed in Northampton.
They are accused of aggravated theft of a motor vehicle and other offences, after a BMW was taken from Radby Drive on the Airfield Farm Estate, in the early hours of Saturday, June 24th.
Police say the men were arrested after being tracked by a police dog, when the car collided with bollards and they fled on foot.
A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “Officers on patrol in Northampton, have attempted to stop the car at about 4am on Saturday, June 24, at the McDonalds car park in Sixfields, but it drove off.
“The occupants decamped and was found hiding in bushes by PD Ebby.”
Callum Gordon, 32, of Stonebridge Court, Northampton was charged with aggravated theft of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, driving with no insurance, theft of a purse, possession of a Class A drug and common assault of an emergency worker.
Joshua Mark Punter, 30, of no fixed address, was charged with aggravated theft of a motor vehicle and theft of a purse.
Both men have appeared before Northampton Magistrates Court and were released on conditional bail, ahead of a further appearance in August.
