Four Trusts Shortlisted To Run New School In Market Harborough

Four Academy Trusts have been shortlisted to run a new primary school in Market Harborough.
The Secretary of State For Education will now decide which is successful, after Leicestershire County Council recommended all be considered.

The 210-place school will be built on the Airfeild Farm housing estate off Leicester Road; and subject to planning permission being granted is set to open in September 2024, initially to reception year children.
The council received six ‘expressions of interest’ to run the school from the Community Inclusive Trust, David Ross Education Trust, Discovery Schools Academy Trust, Inspiring Futures Through Learning, The Duston Education Trust and Tudor Grange Academy Trust.
Due to ‘commercial confidentiality’ the council says it is unable to say which four trusts have progressed to the next stage.
The design of the school, set to be built on land between Airfield Road and Owen Way, would allow for future expansion, to accommodate over 400 pupils.
It will be the first new school to be built in Market Harborough in over 20 years.
