Young Music Talent Shines At Harborough’s Junior X Factor Final

Young musicians have shown off their talent at the final of Market Harborough’s Junior X Factor.
Singers, pianists, groups, drummers and composers aged 11-17 went head to head at the event, held at the Methodist Church on Saturday night.
14-year-old Isabel Southwood was crowned the overall winner, after performing ‘Falling’ by Harry Styles, with her own piano accompaniment.

Isabel received two engraved glass trophies, £125 music store vouchers and music lessons worth £175.
Sue Benson is from the Great Bowden Recital Trust, which ran the competition.

The finalists were chosen from nearly 40 entries into the contest and winners of other categories also received prizes:
Best Instrumental Performance: Ollie Hensher, drums, performed Superstition by Stevie Wonder and received an engraved glass trophy, £50 music store voucher and £150 music lessons
Best Original Composition: Joseph Walton received an engraved glass trophy and £200 music store voucher
Best Group Performance: Dylan Eldridge and Tom Southwood sang their own arrangement of Mad World by Gary Jules accompanied by Isabel Southwood on piano and won £200 music store vouchers and an engraved glass trophy.
Most Promising Instrumentalist: Elwood Till, Drums, performed Plug in Baby by Muse and received £100 of drum lessons funded by GBRT
Most Promising Vocalist: Phoebe Hensher sang All I Want by Olivia Rodrigo and received £100 of vocal lessons funded by GBRT
