Water Leak Disrupts Supplies In Market Harborough

Severn Trent Water is working to repair a burst pipe which led to water supply problems in Market Harborough earlier today.
Homes and businesses in the Northampton Road area had no water or very low pressure, although supplies should now be returning.
Severn Trent Water teams are working to fix the issue near the Caxton Street junction, after being alerted to the leak during the early hours.
A Severn Trent spokesperson told HFM: ‘We’re really sorry for the inconvenience caused by a pipe bursting on Northampton Road this morning.
“Our teams are on site and have moved water around our network in a different way to keep water supplies on for everybody.
“They will now be focussing on fixing the pipe, and to do that safely they will be using three-way traffic lights during the repair.
“Again, we’re sorry for any disruption caused, we want to assure everyone that it is our absolute priority to fix the pipe and get everything back to normal as quickly as possible.’

Temporary traffic lights are in operation on Northampton Road while the repairs take place.
There was a burst water main in the same area in December.
