Hundreds Sign Petition Amid Fears Villages’ Only Buses Will Stop Running

Hundreds of villagers have signed a petition amid fears their only bus services could be scrapped.
West Northamponshire Council is considering withdrawing financial support for routes 59 and 60, which link places including Welford, Naseby, Clipston and Marston Trussell with Market Harborough and Northampton.

It is feared the routes, which also receive financial support from parish councils, would cease to operate without the council’s subsidy.
The petition, which calls for the financial support to continue, will be presented to the council at a budget meeting next week:
