Harborough Primary School Trusts Abandon Merger Plan

The plan to merge two primary school education trusts in the Harborough District has been scrapped.
The Inspiring Primaries Academy Trust, which has nine schools in the Lutterworth area, was set to join the Learn Academies Trust, responsible for several primaries in and around Market Harborough, but both have decided now is not the right time to come together.
The merger plan was announced in January and the trusts had intended to apply to regional education bosses for permission to join together.
A statement reads: “Following further discussions, the two trusts have decided that now is not the right time to come together, and therefore will not be proceeding with the proposal to form a single trust.
“Learn-AT and IPAT will both continue to look to the future with confidence and optimism as strong families of schools serving their communities.”
