Lutterworth Couple Become Millionaires After Lotto Win!

A couple from Lutterworth are celebrating winning £1m on the National Lottery.

Terri and John Picton-Clark scooped the big prize after buying a £2 lucky dip ticket for the draw on January 9th.

They didn’t know they had won at the time and only found out when John went into WH Smith in Market Harborough a few days later, and got the ticket checked.

Terri, 69, who is an award-winning ballroom dancer, and John, 67, have wasted no time sharing their good fortune with others, purchasing laptops for friends and family who are home-schooling.

They have also given £100 to the cashier at Walcote Service Station on the A4304, where John bought the ticket.

Having suffered with ill-health over the years, with both Terri and John having had strokes within a few years of each other, the win is well-deserved.

Terri spoke to Hfm about how it feels to become millionaires, especially during lockdown:

Terri has experienced, first hand, how National Lottery funding supports the community, having worked for the past year as an Equine Facilitator at Project Pony at The Way of the Horse in Lutterworth, a National Lottery-funded project.

The organisation has been awarded four National Lottery grants, totalling £267,000.
