Busker Moved On By Police After ‘Covid Breach’

A busker has been told to stay away from Market Harborough after concerns he was breaching Covid-19 restrictions.

Police officers spoke to the man, who regularly plays a harmonica close to the entrance to Sainsbury’s in St Mary’s Place, after being contacted by members of the public.

It was thought he had been travelling to Harborough from outside the area.

Leicestershire Police say the man wasn’t issued a fine but was advised to leave and not return.

A spokesperson told Hfm: “When any report of a breach of Covid-19 regulations is made, officers assess the circumstances of the report and incident to provide an appropriate and effective response.

“This includes engaging, explaining and encouraging the public to follow the current regulations.

“The man was advised to leave by police and not return.

“A fixed penalty notice was not issued.”
