Big Drop In Covid-19 Cases Across Harborough

There has been a big drop in new cases of Coronavirus across the Harborough District.
The number has nearly halved in week, representing one of the biggest falls in the country.
Latest figures from Public Health England show 142 people tested positive in the seven day to November 28th – down from 266 the previous week.
The seven-day rate of new cases per 100,000 people is now 151.4, which is just below the national average.
The Harborough District has now dropped to 103 in a list of 315 local authority areas in England – with the higher the position, the greater the number of cases.
However, Oadby and Wigston is ranked 6th, where the number of infections is still well above the national average.
Mike Sandys is Director of Public Health for Leicestershire and told Hfm while the drop in cases in Harborough is good news, people must not get complacent.
Speaking to Hfm, he also revealed 90% of the cases across the District have been as a result of ‘household transmission:
