Santa Plans Covid-Safe Tour Of Market Harborough

Santa is planning a covid-safe tour of Market Harborough this year.

Organisers of the annual ‘Santa’s Sleigh’ are working hard to ensure the man in red is able to visit streets around the town next month, in the run-up to Christmas.

Subject to lockdown being lifted, volunteers from the 3^rd Market Harborough Scouts, will accompany him as usual, but because of the pandemic, children will not able to come out of their homes and get on the sleigh to meet him close-up, like previous years,

Instead, they are asked to listen out for the festive music and wave from their doorsteps as the sleigh passes by.

Santa’s helpers will also not be knocking on doors for donations, instead donation buckets will be on the side of the sleigh and people will be able to donate online to the Scouts funds and this year’s chosen charity, the Air Ambulance, via an on-line donation page.

It will be the 52nd year the Scouts have helped Santa tour town.
