Emergency Cash To Help Families Hardest Hit By Pandemic

Written by on 17th November 2020

Emergency government cash is to help families across the Hfm Region struggling to afford food and other essentials because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Leicestershire County Council has been handed just over £541,000 and over £771,000 has been given to Northamptonshire.

The funding will be distributed to charities and community groups working on the front-line to help families in need.

Councillor Matthew Golby, Leader of Northamptonshire County Council said: “We are really pleased to be able to get this funding out to charities so quickly so that they can benefit communities across our County.

“The effects of the pandemic are especially hard on those who are already vulnerable and this funding enables more groups to continue to provide support to those who need it most during these challenging times.”
