The Braybrooke Beer Company has picked up a top award after just two years in businesses.
It has been named Drink Producer of the Year in the Great Food Club Awards, which recognise the best independent firms in the food and drink industry across the East Midlands.
The shortlist was drawn up following a public vote on the GFC website, with shortlisted businesses receiving the highest number of votes in their respective categories.
The judges said: “This specialist lager brewery on a farm near the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border has only been brewing since 2018 but has created beers that stand out for their crispness and satisfying, rounded flavours.
“These beers are a world away from the mass-produced brews that have given lager a bad name in the UK.
“Before launching Braybooke, co-founders Luke Wilson, Nick Trower and Cameron Emirali liaised with German brewing legend Stephan Michel, owner of Mahr’s Bräu of Bamberg, Germany (founded 1670).
“Stephan gave the trio his knowledge and expertise, and supplied plenty of inspiration.
“This has been taken forward by Braybrooke head brewer Mario Canestrelli.”
