Football Club To Help Young & Old Stay Connected

Written by on 3rd November 2020

Harborough Town FC is doing its bit to help schoolchildren and elderly residents in care homes stay connected during the pandemic.

The club has been awarded £7,000 from the National Lottery’s Coronavirus Community Support Fund, to provide tablet computers to ten primary schools in and around Market Harborough and to the Willows Nursing and Residential Home, so residents can stay in touch with loved ones.

It applied for the grant after wanting to do something to help the wider community.

Maz Hayton, Club Development & Commercial Executive at Harborough Town, told Hfm the club wanted to do something that would make a real difference:

The club has  teamed up with its IT partner, Harborough-based Symcirrus IT Solutions Ltd to work on the project and hope to connect tablets provided to the Willows to large TV screens, so residents can easily see their relatives when they connect to them.

They hope to offer the service and provide tablets to other local care homes too.
