Written by HFM News on 27th October 2020
The number of deaths and crashes on roads in the Harborough District are at a six year high.
Six people were killed and there were 69 collisions recorded in the year until March, nearly double the number in the previous 12 months, when there were no fatalities and 37 collisions.
Road safety bosses are planning new awareness campaigns as a result of the increase – Jonathan Clarkson from the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Road Safety Parternership, told Hfm rural roads pose particular hazards:

The highest number of crashes have taken place on the A5 near Lutterworth, where there were ten, followed by seven in the Kibworth area and six around Husbands Bosworth.
The figures, provided by recorded by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service, will be discussed at a meeting of Harborough District Council later this week.
