Popular Market Harborough Priest Bids Farewell

The popular Priest at the Our Lady of Victories Roman Catholic Church in Market Harborough held his last mass yesterday.

Father Owen O’Neill is retiring after 19 years there and some 55 years in ministry.

Services with safety measures in place only resumed three weeks ago because of the pandemic.

He was presented with gifts and cards from members of the congregation and the Churches Together In Harborough group, at a socially distanced presentation at St Hugh’s Church in Northampton Road.

A framed photo of Our Lady of Victories Church and St Dionysius and the Old Grammar School was presented to Father Owen by Rev Christoipher Brown, Minister of Harborough Baptist Church at a socially-distanced ceremony.
