Pupil At Market Harborough School Tests Positive For Coronavirus

A pupil at a Market Harborough primary school has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Ridgeway Primary Academy says the child and other pupils who were in close contact with them are now self-isolating for 14 days.
The school, which fully re-opened last Thursday, is working closely with Public Health England’s Local Heath Protection Scheme after being informed of the positive case, and made parents aware over the weekend.

Elspeth Williams, Chair of Local Governors, said : “Keeping our pupils, staff and local communities safe is our highest priority.
“We have followed government guidance and taken all of the necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the virus and protect our pupils and staff.
“We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England’s Local Health Protection Team.”
Public Health England have identified ‘close contacts’ of the child, which the school says is in the Key Stage One year group, that caters for youngsters aged 5 to 7, although cannot reveal their age or year group to protect their identity.
