Meeting Over Saddington Reservoir Safety Concerns

Police and council officials will meet the owners of Saddington Reservoir today after hundreds gathered there during the heatwave.

Safety concerns were raised after large numbers of people took to the water to swim, with some jumping in from height and the Canal and River Trust issued a plea saying people were putting their lives at risk.

There were also worries about a lack of social distancing amongst the big crowds there – Harborough Council Leader Phil King told Hfm such scenes can’t be repeated:
