Men Arrested After Sheep Killed

Police are still holding two men who were arrested on suspicion of being involved in illegal sheep butchery, after ten sheep were killed in a field near Welford on Sunday night.

Northamptonshire Police say officers responded to a report of suspicious activity in a field and discovered an offence in progress.

Shortly afterwards a vehicle was stopped on the A14 and the men, aged 23 and 35, from Birmingham, were arrested on suspicion of theft and criminal damage.

The vehicle they were in was seized by Police and is undergoing a forensic examination.
