Water works in Market Harborough

Severn Trent say water supplies have returned to normal after problems in parts of Market Harborough and Little Bowden yesterday evening.

Some people were left with no water and others with extremely low pressure,

The company says it was made aware of the issue at around 5.30pm and dispatched engineers to investigate, with the issue being resolved at around 9pm.

A spokesman told Hfm: “We’re really sorry for any disruption this may have caused our customers and thank them for their patience whilst we carried out this repair.

Meanwhile, the next phase of the £2m scheme to upgrade water pipes in Market Harborough is getting underway this week.

Severn Trent will begin work on Kettering Road, opposite Ashley Way, with temporary traffic lights in placed until early December.

Some work has already taken place on the road, although the decision was made to carry out this pipe renewal separately to avoid a full road closure.

The company is thanking people for their continued patience as two miles of aging pipes across town are replaced.
