Police have issued a warning after teenagers were seen cycling down the fast lane of the A6 bypass – towards on-coming traffic.
Officers received numerous calls about the group who were on the section between Kibworth and Great Glen, just after 6pm on Monday.
Officers say they could easily have been struck by a vehicle and have described their actions as reckless.
Pc Steve Winn, from Harborough Police, said: “It is an incredibly dangerous and reckless thing to do. It would not have been light at that time of the day so that just makes it an even more dangerous thing to do.
“We would reiterate the appeal for parents to speak to their children about where and when they cycle and urge anyone who is using the roads to always adhere to the Highway Code.”
