Warning Over Parking Payment Scam

People are being urged not to fall victim to a scam when paying to park in Market Harborough.
Fraudsters have set up fake websites, posing as on-line payment provider ‘Pay By Phone’ and have duped some drivers into entering bank details.
A council spokesperson said: “We are aware that fraudulent companies have been masquerading as PayByPhone online.
“PayByPhone offers a secure payment option for purchasing a ticket at Harborough District Council-owned carparks.
“To avoid any scam payment websites, it is important that visitors access PayByPhone safely, if they choose to pay by this method, by:
-Downloading the PayByPhone app directly from the App Store or Google Play Store
-Visiting the website by entering PayByPhone.co.uk directly into the search bar
-Dialling 0330 400 7275 to use the automated phone line
