Warning Over Parking Fine Scam

A warning has been issued about a parking fine scam operating in the Harborough district.

People have received a text message stating they have been given Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) from the council, which must be paid immediately using a link that goes to a bogus payment platform.

A Harborough District Council spokesperson said: “This is a scam – we never send texts containing a link to pay a PCN.

“All fines are issued in writing from Leicestershire County Council. Please ignore these texts and do not click on the link to make a payment.”
