Volunteers Needed To Plant 5,000 Bulbs

Volunteers are needed to help plant 5,000 bulbs in Market Harborough’s new Friendship Park.

The open space is currently being created on a previously overgrown area of land adjacent to the Market Hall car park on Northampton Road.

The new Friendship Park is taking shape

Harborough District Council is working with the community on the £30,000 project and the mass planting session will take place on Friday from 9.30am.

Harborough Town Hub will be providing around 20 volunteers and spokesman Bruce Durham is encouraging others to get involved:

Already 2,000 native Daffodil bulbs have been put in the ground and on Friday a mixture of bulbs including Native Tulip, Cyclamen, Snowdrop, Snakehead Fritillaria and Native Blue Bell will be planted, along with so 80 Hazel pot grown plants

Volunteers attended are asked to take a spade with them.
