Tradespeople Offered Free Tool Marking
Written by HFM News on 8th January 2019
Police are teaming up with a Market Harborough business to enable tradespeople to get their tools security marked and registered for free.
It follows a large number of vans being broken into across the District in the past three months, with tools worth thousands of pounds stolen.
SDS Trade Equipment based on the St Mary’s Business Park on Albany Road will be providing the service between 9.30am and 2.30pm on Friday.
Pc Malc Roberts told Hfm having tools marked act as a deterrent, but also enables them to be returned if they are stolen and then found:
People going to the event will be offered free engraving on all power tools, a record will also be kept of any serial numbers or tools that have been engraved and police officers will also be offering security advice.
