Town centre roadworks causing delays in Market Harborough

Written by on 13th July 2026

Drivers are being warned to expect delays in Market Harborough town centre this week because of drainage works.

Leicestershire County Council is carrying out the work until Friday, with temporary traffic lights replacing the usual signals at the junctions of St Mary’s Road, Northampton Road and High Street with The Square.

One side of the road has been coned off, leading to longer queues than normal.

Adam and Eve Street is also closed for the duration of the works, which will include the replacement of an outlet pipe to a roadside gully, with parking suspended there and in Church Square.

To help minimise disruption for businesses, the one-way system on Adam and Eve Street has been temporarily suspended, allowing traders and delivery vehicles to continue accessing the area.
