The festival included a flotilla of 30 boats which made its way to Union Wharf, which hosted the 1950 festival, before making its way back to Foxton, where there were a host of activities, exhibitions and stalls.

The Inland Waterways Association organised the festival with support from the Canal and River Trust and Harborough District Council.
