Temporary Lights Cause Traffic Problems

Severn Trent Water say temporary traffic lights at the junction of Kettering Road and Gores Lane in Little Bowden will be operated manually at peak times in a bit to reduce congestion.
They were installed this morning so work to connect new water pipes can take place, but are leading to long queues, as it’s the diversion route for the on-going closure of Rockingham Road at the railway bridge.
Some drivers say they have been waiting in tailbacks to get through the lights for up to 30 minutes.
Severn Trent say they hope the work will be finished by Friday, when the lights can then be removed.
A Severn Trent spokesperson told Hfm: “Obviously we’ll get the work done as quickly as we can and apologise for the frustration.”
