Teenagers Arrested After Car-Jacking Attacks

Two teenagers have been questioned after women were attacked by ‘car-jackers’ twice within 24 hours in Houghton On The Hill.
The boys, aged 16 and 17 were arrested on suspicion of committing the two robberies in the village.

The first happened just after 5pm on Thursday, when a 60-year-old was hit in the face and pushed to the floor in Weir Lane, before having her car keys taken and her vehicle. parked near-by stolen.
Then, at around 6pm on Friday, a woman in her 50s had her car stolen after she was pulled out of the driver’s seat Main Street.
Both victims were left with cuts and bruises and extremely shaken.
Police, who have recovered both vehicles, say the boys have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
Officers are urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward.
