Teacher At Harborough School Tests Positive For Coronavirus

A teacher at Welland Park Academy in Market Harborough has tested positive for Coronavirus.
Students are still able to attend as normal, as the female member of staff has had no direct contact with any of them.
The teacher, who teaches across all year groups and whose symptoms are described as mild, had already been self-isolating at home for a number of days after a member of their own household tested positive for Covid-19.
As a precaution another teacher, who had held a meeting with them recently, has also been self-isolating, although they have tested negative.
Principal Julie McBrearty told Hfm the school has followed government guidance and carried out a full risk assessment after the positive case was confirmed.
She added as part of strict measures in place, all teachers work in a taped-off area at the front of classrooms, two metres away from students, so have no direct contact with them.
