A stunning poppy cascade has been unveiled in Desborough after people of the town united to knit and crochet thousands of woollen poppies.
It has been placed on the side of St Giles Church ahead of the launch of the annual Poppy Appeal this weekend, to pay tribute to those who lost their lives at war.

The cascade is made-up of around 9,000 woollen poppies, which were attached to chicken wire before being attached to the church.
Linda Burnham from the Royal British Legion in Desborough helped co-ordinate the project and told HFM the whole community got involved:

A display of hand-knitted purple poppies has also been put around the entrance to the church, to represent animals killed during war.
