Solar Panels To Cut Bowling Club’s Electricity Costs

Little Bowden Bowling Club is now much more environmentally-friendly after the completion of a sustainable heating project.
Over 20 solar panels are now on the roof of the clubhouse – which is also used by other community groups – and state-of-the-art energy efficient heaters have been installed inside.

Grants totalling £30,000 from Harborough District Council and the Market Harborough and The Bowdens Charity have funded the scheme, with Market Harborough-based Environmental Energies installing the solar system.
It will cut the club’s electricity costs by 70% and reduce its carbon footprint by one tonne of Co2 annually.
