Record crowd as Operation Market Harborough hailed a success

Operation Market Harborough (OMH) has been hailed a major success after attracting a record crowd of around 12,000 people over the weekend.

Historic military vehicles, living history displays, battle re-enactments and 1940s-style live music filled Market Harborough Showground for the fourth staging of the event, attracting visitors from across the UK and overseas.

Organisers had expected around 10,000 people to attend, but say this year’s event exceeded expectations, making it the biggest Operation Market Harborough to date.

The event featured hundreds of historic military vehicles, living history camps, battle re-enactments, family activities and displays, giving visitors the chance to meet owners and hear the stories behind many of the exhibits.

People travelled from as far away as Canada to take part, while money raised over the weekend will support a number of charities.

Organisers have thanked everyone who attended, as well as the volunteers, exhibitors, re-enactors and supporters who helped make this year’s event the most successful yet.
