Prom Clothing Bank To Open At Market Harborough School

There has been a fantastic response to an appeal launched to help teenagers in Market Harborough struggling with the cost of outfits for end-of-year school proms.
Over 100 dresses, suits, shoes and accessories have been donated to Welland Park Academy in just a few weeks.

The ‘Welland Eco Wardrobe’ is now being set-up to allow students in Market Harborough to hire items for just a small fee, to cover cleaning costs.
Nicki Burgess, the principal’s PA, came up with the idea, after speaking to pupils who expressed concerns about rising costs of prom attire and was worried some would be unable to attend events.
Businesses including John Lewis have also go involved and Nicki spoke to HFM’s Nick Shaw about how the idea has taken off:
