Princess Diana Letters Sells for £2,500 In Market Harborough

Written by on 18th September 2018

A thank you letter written by Princess Diana exactly five weeks before she died has sold at auction in Market Harborough today for £2,500.

The buyer was an anonymous internet bidder from the UK, although a number of people bid in person at Gildings, as well as others on-line from across the world.

Diana sent it to a personal protection officer, following a holiday with Princes William and Harry to St Tropez in Southern France in July 1997, where they stayed with Dodi Fayed.

The Princess was attracting world-wide media attention at the time, because of her newly formed relationship with him.

The handwritten letter, on Kensington Palace headed notepaper, was also signed by Princes William & Harry.
