Burglar Jailed After Leaving Shorts At Crime Scene In Fleckney

A burglar has been jailed for six years after leaving a pair of his shorts at a house he’d broken into in Fleckney.
Matthew Ryan was arrested a few days after stealing items including jewellery and an Xbox from the home on Saddington Road in July.
Leicester Crown Court heard the 42-year-old, of no fixed abode, left a bag containing the orange shorts at the scene, which had his DNA on.
Forensic officers matched it with Ryan after searching the Police National Database.
He’s been convicted of the burglary in the village and others in Leicester.
