Primary Schools Prepare To Welcome Back Pupils

Written by on 28th May 2020

The Learn Academies Trust, which ten Primary Schools in and around Market Harborough  belong to, has been outlining how it will welcome back pupils, after the government said they could re-open in June.

The Trust Board met last week to approve plans for a phased approach to the expansion of the provision in its ten primary schools, which have remained open for keyworker children throughout the lock down period, and they are being finalised in the coming days.

Pupils in Reception, Year One and Year Six will be allowed back a year group at a time from June 8th.

Youngsters will be placed in groups of up to 15 and remain in them throughout the school day, to minimise contact with others.

Each child will get special bags with stationary and school books in, which will be ‘quarantined’ for at least 72 hours after use, to minimise any risks from sharing resources, and lunch will be served in ‘grab bags’ delivered to classrooms.

Markings will also be put down in playgrounds and by entrances and exits in relation to social-distancing.

From Monday staff training will take place on the new policies and procedures.

Learn Academies Trust has 10 member primary schools:
