Popular Fundraiser Cancelled For A Second Year

The Great Glen Wheelbarrow Race has been cancelled for a second year.
Organisers of the annual fundraiser for Leicestershire’s Loros Hospice say there is not enough time to plan the event safely, with final lockdown restrictions not due to be lifted until later this month.
They also say the impact that the pandemic has had on some businesses, to which the event relies upon for sponsorship, meant it felt morally wrong to approach them this year.
The pandemic also forced the cancellation of the popular September event last year, although organisers say it will return ‘bigger and better’ in 2022.
