Poppy Cascade in Great Bowden
Written by HFM on 25th June 2018
Residents in a Harborough village are being invited to get involved in marking the centenary of the end of World War One in dramatic style – with a “poppy cascade” from their church tower.
Great Bowden Parish Church is planning the giant display from the 1st to the 18th of November – to honour the 44 men from the village who died for their country during the conflict.
To make a start on creating the 2500 knitted poppies needed, there’s a “Poppy and Pint” evening tonight at the Shoulder of Mutton pub in the village.
