Poppy Appeal To Launch In Market Harborough & Desborough

This year’s Poppy Appeal launches in Market Harborough tomorrow with the hope it will raise £25,000.
The Royal British Legion’s Veteran’s Support Group is set to ride into town for the launch on The Square at 10am and will be displaying their motorbikes.
Street collectors will be out too and the town’s branch of the Legion will unveil a stall in Harborough Market, where they will be selling poppies on days the Market Hall is open for the next fortnight.
Collections in and around Market Harborough in 2022 amounted to just under £25,000 and it is hoped the appeal will hit the milestone figure this year.
Stewart Harrison is an Army and Royal Navy veteran and Chairman of the Market Harborough branch of the Royal British Legion.
He told HFM people’s support for the appeal is always fantastic:
Harborough District Council has placed over 100 Union Jack flags above shops and businesses in the town centre and is also turning the lights red on The Symington Building and in the Square red from tonight, to show support for the appeal.

The Poppy Appeal in Desborough is also launching tomorrow, after raising over £13,000 in the town last year.
The Royal British Legions will have stalls in shops and on the market selling poppies and a Poppy Cascade has been revealed on St Giles Church:
