Police Recover Stolen Vehicles & Property

Police have recovered stolen vehicles and equipment near Market Harborough thanks to after-market security devices installed by owners.

Intelligence led officers to a location in Braybrooke, where stolen items found included a VW car, Swift Archway caravan, an Ifor Williams cattle trailer, an SMH welfare trailer and various horse tack.

They had been stolen from various police force areas and have now been returned to their rightful owners.

PC Chris Bartovsky from Northamptonshire Police’s Rural Crime Team said: “I am pleased that we managed to recover the property and reunite it with the rightful owners thanks to the support of partner agencies and assistance from the local community.

“This outcome demonstrates the importance of after-market security measures such as tracking devices, kit marking and correct registration of this equipment to not only prevent thefts but to aid the return of recovered property when stolen. We are really passionate about tackling rural crime and I hope the quick action taken in this case demonstrates that fact.”

No arrests have been made and enquiries into the thefts are on-going.

Police are continuing to encourage owners of rural vehicles and equipment to take steps to protect their property, including marking, registration, and installing tracking devices.
