Police Officers Assaulted During Disorder In Town Centre

Police officers were assaulted while making arrests after disorder in Market Harborough town centre in the early hours of yesterday.

A female officer suffered an arm injury and both her and colleagues were spat at by a man.

They were forced to deploy a spit hood on him as a result.

The officers had been called to the High Street just after 1.30am, following reports of people acting aggressively.

Two men – one aged in his 20s and the other in his 40s – were arrested.
