Police Bosses Meet With MPs Over Cash Fears

Leicestershire Police bosses have with all of the county’s MPs to plead for them to intervene in government plans that could lead to up to 180 officers being lost.

If a new pensions policy comes into force next year, it would leave the force with an unexpected £8m pound bill.

They say the only way to cover that would be to lose frontline staff, the number of which have already fallen by over 500 since 2009, due to government funding cuts.
