Poignant Poppy Display Outside Market Harborough Fire Station
Written by HFM News on 2nd November 2020
A poignant Poppy display has been created by firefighters outside Market Harborough Fire Station for the Remembrance period.
It features dozen of woollen red poppies, in front of a silhouette of a soldier and nurse, and purple poppies beside the cut-out of a horse and dog, to signify the tens of thousands of animals sacrificed during war.
The display outside the Fairfield Road base also recognises the significance of the 75th anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day earlier this year.
People have making Poppies to add to the displays and firefighters are thanking all who have contributed, as well as continuing to appeal for extra ones, especially the purple colour.
They are also thanking Gibbs and Dandy in Market Harborough, for donating timber for the display.
Leicestershire Fire & Rescue Service has also put Poppy stickers on the side of fire engines for the Remembrance period.
