Person Dies After Being Hit By Train In Great Bowden

A person has died after being hit by a train in Great Bowden early this morning.

Emergency services were called to the section of track off Langton Road at around 5am and a Police helicopter was also scrambled to the scene.

The person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The British Transport Police say the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.

All trains were suspended while the incident was dealt with, although began running again at 7.45am.
