The Oxendon Tunnel on the Brampton Valley Way near Market Harborough has reopened after major resurfacing and drainage work.
The tunnel was closed for around six weeks while the existing path was excavated and a new, more durable surface was laid.

The nearby car park has also reopened, meaning the route is now fully accessible again for walkers and cyclists near Great Oxendon.
The work was carried out by West Northamptonshire Council to improve the condition of the tunnel path, which had previously required temporary repairs.
The timing of the work was also planned around the presence of bats in the tunnel, with the works carried out under a licence issued by Natural England.
