Opposition Mounts To Revised Market Harborough Homes Plan

Opposition is mounting to revised plans for 85 new homes between two Market Harborough housing estates.
The proposals are for land between Farndale View and Farndon Fields, where developers are making a second attempt to secure planning permission.
The original plans were rejected by Harborough District Council in April after councillors raised concerns about flooding and the location of proposed public open space.

Campaigner say the site is prone to flooding
Campaigners have previously argued the site is prone to flooding and that building on the land could make the problem worse and numerous objections have been submitted to the new plan.
The developers say the revised scheme has been redesigned to address the council’s concerns.
At the same time, they are appealing against the original refusal, meaning both the new application and the previous decision are now being considered separately.
The revised application remains under consideration by Harborough District Council, with members of the public able to submit comments as part of the planning process.
